Every fourth murder in Norway is a domestic homicide committed by a partner or an ex partner - a gender related killing. Many lives could have been saved if gender based violence had been stopped in time. It is the government's responsibility to ensure that everyone gets the help and protection they need. Best practices and systematic prevention in your community can prevent violence which ends with murder.
The campaign Break the silence - save lives! aims at engaging individuals and holding politicians accountable for preventing gender based violence and killings. The campaign is a part of the international campaign 16 days of activism against gender based violence. The Secretariat of the Shelter Movement has received funding from the Ministry of Justice for running the campaign in partnership with the Equality and Anti-discrimination Ombud in Norway.
Together we can combat and prevent gender based violence and save lives!
